Millions Now Living..., Way to Paradise; any way to find copies/prints?
by The Leological One ini have recently been blessed with my wife (currently df'd jw) starting to look into some things, and she's read the book "questions for jehovah's witnesses" by the cetners.
she still feels she needs to see something she feels is more reliable for dates such as the 1925 patriarchs, etc, and when i was doing research, i noticed the best quotes to show seem to be from books such as the millions now living will never die and the way to paradise, but they're really old, and i couldn't find any available on e-bay or as reprints on cds on my search.
does anybody know a way to get ahold of these books?

Tone of the current literature
by TheListener ini haven't started a thread in some time but this is something that has got me thinking.
i want to know if i'm off-base here or if others have noticed this too.is.. over the last several months (perhaps 6-9) i feel that the tone of the wts and kms have been very strong.
not strong in the sense of legalistic do's and don'ts but strong in the sense of do more!!!!

They are beating people down 2 the point that they have made it hard to focus on making sure everyone feels love. Everyone is 2 busy earning salvation. Its the sad state of the organization right now. Will it change? Probably not because they keep this sense of impending doom before everyone. Its the Jws against all the wicked world. Hard 2 develope love even 4 your enemies when your constantly bombarded with that mentality

vivid memory with confusing contradiction...
by zanex ini had a very clear dream the other night and it continues to play itself out in my mind again and again...i can recall with sharp clarity years ago when i was 12 and very much impressed with my father...he turned to me and said something i will never forget...i had asked him what he wanted...just in general and he told me that he wanted "more" he was not real clear as to what the "more" was and at the time i didnt understand but now, pushing 30, i know what he meant by that.
at the same time tho he is a jw elder and locked into a box that will never allow him to achieve the ultimate fruition of what he wants.
as a member of that org the one thing that has always set him apart as a person is the one thing that he will never be allowed to cultivate...the desire to learn more and to be set apart by that study and wisdom is something that he has always thrived on so it seems rather odd to me that he would do something so contradictory to who he is as a person...lol.

I do~! But I also don't come from a JW background and had been raised at first a Methodist, then when my mother and father got divorced ended up alternating weekends at an evangelical church and a Southern Baptist church. After I went through many things, I eventually came back to seeking a relationship with God and decided to be nondenominational, meaning I feel free to go to whatever church that preaches and teaches the Bible in such a way I feel is clear and matches up with what is written, in a clear manner that could be understood by anyone reading themselves rather than some vague things taken out of context to support some grand conclusion.
I've also spent years sharing my own views with others and debating on net forums, though I've slowed down a lot over the last couple years as a result of going to school FT to become a nurse (dropped my plans to go to pharmacy school, originally) and working as well as trying to get a band together and getting married just last November. My main motive for being here is that I was first a friend to a JW and am now married to the same JW, love her, and wanted to help her get out of her deep depression resulting from feeling the WT is God's sole true channel and that she's unforgiven because she's DF'd by this obviously far from perfect group of old men somewhere.

A hijacking for a good cause is a good thing!

Also, another of one of the many areas of major prophecy-failure would be 1925:
1925 "The chief thing to be restored is the human race to life; and since other Scriptures definitely fix the fact that there will be a resurrection of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and other faithful ones of old, and that these will have the first favor, we may expect 1925 to witness the return of these faithful men of Israel from the condition of death, being resurrected and fully restored to perfect humanity and made the visible, legal representatives of the new order of things on earth.. They are to be resurrected as perfect men and constitute the princes or rulers in the earth .. Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection.. A simple calculation of these jubilees brings us to this important fact: Seventy jubilees of fifty years each would be a total of 3500 years. That period of time beginning 1575 years before A.D. 1 of necessity would end in the fall of 1925, at which time the type ends and the great antitype must begin. What, then, should we expect to take palace? Then, based upon the promises set forth in the divine Word, we must reach the positive and indisputable conclusion that millions now living will never die." {MLND 97}

These things are worth looking into because of the fact that the society claims to be Christ's sole representative and channel to people and yet has proven itself to be wrong on all its prophecies. This one above obviously didn't occur in 1925, nor have any of the others, so when people might use the argument that we couldn't know if Jesus wasn't ruling invisibly, it pretty much makes it cut and dry that He is not here invisibly and that that particular prophecy is just as wrong as the rest of them.
Hopefully this will open up the door to studying the Bible indepth and independant of WT literature to guide you and tell you what the Bible is saying since they've been wrong in such important areas previously and likely are very wrong in other key areas, i.e. disfellowshipping/shunning, believing they're the faithful and discreet slave based on taking one verse out of context in a Matthew parable, calling the 144,000 the little flock when actually that was Jesus simply calling his own disciples the little flock, etc...
Not trying to force another view on you or anything but just offering reasons for believing something different to think about.

I have original (not copies) issues of both those books and have read them both. My favorite of all the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation produced literature is the yearbooks. There is a wealth of information hidden in those. I think the Watch Tower knows there's few Witnesses who ever read yearbooks. They actually contain a year by year history from 1927 on.
Garybuss: Do the yearbooks just basically have the same material in them that was printed throughout the year, like a collection of that year's WT or Awake! magazines? Do you mean each one has a history of the WT from 1927 on or that they started being printed in 1927?
